The mirror booth, built for Staten Island's grand ballrooms and family estates
Our magic mirror is the booth Staten Island families ask for by name, and the island's catering culture is exactly why — receptions here are famously well-attended, and a full-length mirror that lets whole families pile in at once beats a booth that only fits two or three. Behind the gold frame sits a Canon DSLR and a studio ring light, so the photos look shot in a studio rather than snapped on a phone under event lighting.
It travels well into the venues we see most across the island: into a grand ballroom near St. George built to seat several hundred, onto the grounds of a Todt Hill estate home where the driveway and level lawn make load-in straightforward, into a waterfront catering hall near Great Kills already set up for a Sweet Sixteen. Because it reads at full height, whole wedding parties can pile in at once instead of squeezing three people into a frame — which is exactly the multigenerational guest list that Staten Island weddings, Sweet Sixteens and christenings tend to bring.
Setup takes about 20 minutes and we arrive a full hour ahead of your start time, so it is tested and quiet before your first guest walks in. The booth wants a 10ft x 10ft footprint with room for a backdrop and props table, though we can compress to 8ft x 8ft with 7.5ft of ceiling clearance for a tighter New Dorp or Tottenville venue, and all it needs is a standard 110V outlet within 15 feet. Staten Island is within our standard service area — any bridge toll is built into your quote up front, whether your venue sits in St. George or all the way south in Tottenville.

Magic Mirror Brooklyn is Absolutely the BEST thing we added to our wedding reception! People were still talking about how much FUN they had 2 weeks after, they LOVED Vallon and his crew who made everything so much FUN, the keepsake photos were Hilarious & guests stayed WAY later than they would have because we had this UNIQUE booth! Typical photobooths have NOTHING on this Mirror. If I could give a 10 star rating..I would!

Magic Mirror Brooklyn was incredibly professional and friendly upon booking online, particularly in regards to the rental of the Mirror photo-booth. They worked tirelessly to pull off our vision and went above and beyond throughout the process. On event day, they were professional and had wonderful interactions with each guest who came to get their picture taken.

It was a pleasure doing business with Valen. He was very polite, professional and very accommodating. Him and his assistant had very good energy and kept all of our guests having fun. The table with accessories was kept neat and organized the whole evening. The booth was a big hit in my event! Would definitely hire this company again.

Questions
Mirror Photo Booth on Staten Island — FAQ
Is the mirror booth good for a big St. George ballroom wedding?
Yes — the full-length format is built for exactly that kind of guest list. Staten Island ballroom weddings routinely run several hundred guests across every generation, and whole families can use the mirror together instead of queuing three at a time.
Can the mirror booth set up on the grounds of a Todt Hill estate home?
In most cases, yes. Todt Hill's larger properties tend to give us a level lawn or patio rather than a tight ballroom floor, which makes outdoor placement easier than elsewhere on the island. We'll confirm ground level, shade and a nearby outlet before you book.
Do you charge extra to bring the mirror booth across the bridge to Staten Island?
No separate travel fee — Staten Island is within our standard service area and any bridge toll is already built into the quote you get from your venue ZIP code, whichever end of the island your venue is on.
Can guests sign or write on their photo at the mirror booth?
Yes. The touchscreen supports on-screen signatures and drawings, so guests can leave a message right on their print — a favorite at Staten Island weddings where the couple keeps every strip in a guest book afterward.
How much space does the mirror booth need?
The optimal footprint is 10ft x 10ft, which leaves room for the backdrop, props table and a red carpet if you want one. We can compress to a minimum of 8ft x 8ft with 7.5ft of ceiling clearance for a tighter New Dorp or Tottenville venue, and we need one standard 110V outlet within 15 feet.
Is an attendant included with a Staten Island mirror booth rental?
Yes. A trained attendant runs the booth for the full length of your rental — setup, keeping the prop table organized, helping guests use the touchscreen, and packing down at the end of the night.
How long does setup take, and can you arrive early for a Staten Island event?
Setup takes about 20 minutes once we're in the room, and we arrive a full hour before your scheduled start time so everything is tested and quiet before guests arrive. If your venue needs us on site earlier than that, idle time runs $150 per hour.
Do you carry insurance and can you provide a COI for my Staten Island venue?
Yes. We carry a $3 million insurance policy. If your venue needs a certificate of insurance naming them as additionally insured, reply to your booking confirmation with their contact email and we will send it over.
Does it cost more if our venue is at the far south end of the island, like Tottenville?
No. Staten Island is one standard service area regardless of which end your venue is on — the bridge toll is built into your quote up front, and we plan travel time into our hour-early arrival so distance never affects your setup.
