Why a photo booth earns its place at a wedding
Your photographer captures the day. A photo booth captures what your guests did with it — the table of cousins who piled in six at a time, the uncle who found the boa, the friends who came back four times over the night. Those are different photographs, and you generally only get them if there is a booth in the room.
There is also a practical argument. A booth keeps the room busy during the flat spots — the gap between dinner and dancing, the stretch while the band changes over — and it gives the guests who do not dance somewhere to be. Couples routinely tell us their guests stayed later than they expected, and the booth is usually part of why.
When to open the booth during your reception
Most weddings book three to four hours of booth time. The sweet spot is opening as cocktail hour ends and running through the heart of the dance floor, so the booth is live while the energy is highest rather than sitting idle through dinner speeches.
If your reception runs long, it is usually better to start the booth later than to start it early and have it close before the night peaks. We will talk this through with you when we quote rather than just selling you more hours.
Which booth suits a wedding
The mirror booth is the most-booked for weddings, because the full-length format handles whole wedding parties and works for every age in the room. The glam booth is the choice for black-tie weddings where you want the photos to look as considered as the outfits. The 360 booth is increasingly popular for younger crowds who will share the clip that night.
For guest lists over about 150, we often suggest pairing a static booth with the roaming attendant so the seated tables get covered too and nobody spends the evening in a queue.
What your venue will need from us
Most wedding venues ask for a certificate of insurance naming them as additionally insured. We carry a $3 million policy and turn COIs around the same day you send us the venue contact — worth knowing if you have already chased another vendor for one.
On the day we arrive an hour before your start time and set up in about 20 minutes. We need a 10ft x 10ft space ideally, 8ft x 8ft at minimum, and a standard outlet within 15 feet that is not shared with the DJ or catering.

The three booths couples book most
Any of them will work at a wedding. These are the ones that work best, and why.

Mirror Photo Booth
The full-length interactive mirror that started it all — animated touchscreen, studio lighting, and prints in your hands in seconds.

360 Photo Booth
A slow-motion camera orbits your guests on a lit platform. It draws a crowd from the moment it switches on.

Glam Booth
The black-and-white, skin-smoothing look made famous on the red carpet. Every guest leaves looking like the shot was retouched.

Magic Mirror Brooklyn is Absolutely the BEST thing we added to our wedding reception! People were still talking about how much FUN they had 2 weeks after, they LOVED Vallon and his crew who made everything so much FUN, the keepsake photos were Hilarious & guests stayed WAY later than they would have because we had this UNIQUE booth! Typical photobooths have NOTHING on this Mirror. If I could give a 10 star rating..I would!

Magic Mirror Brooklyn was incredibly professional and friendly upon booking online, particularly in regards to the rental of the Mirror photo-booth. They worked tirelessly to pull off our vision and went above and beyond throughout the process. On event day, they were professional and had wonderful interactions with each guest who came to get their picture taken.

It was a pleasure doing business with Valen. He was very polite, professional and very accommodating. Him and his assistant had very good energy and kept all of our guests having fun. The table with accessories was kept neat and organized the whole evening. The booth was a big hit in my event! Would definitely hire this company again.

Questions
Weddings photo booth FAQ
How many hours should we book for a wedding?
Three to four hours covers most receptions. We would rather help you place those hours well than sell you an extra one you do not need — tell us your run sheet and we will suggest a start time.
Can you match the booth to our wedding colors?
Yes. The print template is designed around your names, date and palette, and you choose the backdrop from our range. Flower walls are available if you want the backdrop to be part of the decor rather than behind it.
Do we get all the photos afterwards?
Yes. Every image from the night lands in an online gallery you can download in full and share with guests, on top of the unlimited prints handed out on the night.
How much does a photo booth rental cost in NYC?
Pricing depends on which booth you choose, how many hours you need, and where your venue is. Every quote is built for your specific event rather than pulled off a rate card, so the fastest way to a real number is the quote form — it takes about 30 seconds. Additional hours beyond your booked time are $125 per hour.
Is an attendant included with the photo booth rental?
Yes. A trained attendant runs every booth for the full length of your rental — setting up, keeping the prop table organized, helping guests, and packing down afterward. You never have to assign someone from your own team to look after the booth.
How much space does the booth need?
Optimal setup is 10ft x 10ft, which leaves room for the backdrop, prop table and a red carpet. We can compress into a smaller footprint when a venue is tight — the minimum is 8ft x 8ft with 7.5ft of ceiling clearance. We also need a standard 110V, 5-amp, 3-prong outlet within 15 feet of the booth.
How long does setup take?
About 20 minutes from the moment we walk in until we are taking the first picture. We arrive a full hour before your scheduled start time so everything is tested and ready. If you need us on site earlier than that, idle time is $150 per hour.
Do you carry insurance and can you provide a COI for my venue?
Yes. We carry a $3 million insurance policy. If your venue needs a certificate of insurance naming them as additionally insured, reply to your booking confirmation with their contact email and we will send it over.
