The studio booth for Manhattan ballrooms, galleries and conference floors

Manhattan events run on someone else's schedule — a loading dock window, a freight elevator reservation, a building engineer who wants the certificate of insurance before he'll assign you a circuit. We send the COI ahead of time and build the studio booth's lighting rig into whichever corner of the ballroom or gallery the venue actually gives us, so setup is done and tested well before the room fills.

It is the booth we point corporate clients toward first, because the output does double duty: guests get a portrait for the party and a headshot they'll actually use the next morning. At a conference or networking event in Midtown or the Financial District, that combination is worth more to an attendee than a novelty photo strip — and it delivers by email before they've left the floor.

For a wedding or gala in a hotel ballroom, the same setup produces portraits that hold up next to the photographer's own shots, with an overlay carrying your names, date or a monogram. We need a 10ft x 10ft footprint where the room allows it, 8ft x 8ft when it's tighter, and a dedicated 110V outlet — not one already carrying the AV rig or the caterer's chafing dishes, which in a lot of Manhattan hotel ballrooms means confirming the circuit with the building engineer in advance.

What clients say

Magic Mirror Brooklyn is Absolutely the BEST thing we added to our wedding reception! People were still talking about how much FUN they had 2 weeks after, they LOVED Vallon and his crew who made everything so much FUN, the keepsake photos were Hilarious & guests stayed WAY later than they would have because we had this UNIQUE booth! Typical photobooths have NOTHING on this Mirror. If I could give a 10 star rating..I would!

Magic Mirror Brooklyn was incredibly professional and friendly upon booking online, particularly in regards to the rental of the Mirror photo-booth. They worked tirelessly to pull off our vision and went above and beyond throughout the process. On event day, they were professional and had wonderful interactions with each guest who came to get their picture taken.

It was a pleasure doing business with Valen. He was very polite, professional and very accommodating. Him and his assistant had very good energy and kept all of our guests having fun. The table with accessories was kept neat and organized the whole evening. The booth was a big hit in my event! Would definitely hire this company again.

Questions

Studio Photo Booth in Manhattan — FAQ

Is the studio booth good for real headshots at a Manhattan conference?

It's the primary reason corporate clients book it. The DSLR and studio lighting produce headshots people actually use, delivered by email before the session ends, which makes it a genuinely useful line item at a networking event rather than just entertainment.

Can you provide a certificate of insurance for a Manhattan hotel or venue?

Yes. We carry a $3 million liability insurance policy, and Manhattan venues asking for a COI naming them as additionally insured are routine for us — reply to your booking confirmation with their contact and we'll send it over ahead of load-in.

Does the studio booth need its own power circuit in a hotel ballroom?

We need a standard 110V outlet within 15 feet that isn't shared with the AV rig or catering equipment. In hotel ballrooms that usually means confirming the assigned circuit with the building engineer before your event, which we're glad to coordinate directly.

How much space does the studio booth need?

10ft x 10ft is optimal for the camera, lighting and backdrop. We can compress to 8ft x 8ft with 7.5ft of ceiling clearance in a tighter gallery space or a smaller private room.

Is there a travel fee for a studio booth rental in Manhattan?

Manhattan is a standard service area — any travel fee is quoted up front from your venue ZIP code, never added to the invoice afterward.

Can the studio booth be branded for a corporate event?

Yes. Overlays, print templates and the on-screen framing can all carry your logo and colors, which is standard for product launches and holiday parties across our Manhattan corporate clients.

How long does setup take, and can you work around a loading dock reservation?

About 20 minutes once we're in the room, but we build load-in around whatever window your building gives us — we've worked plenty of venues where the freight elevator is only available for a fixed slot. We arrive a full hour before your start time; idle time before that is $150 per hour.

What backdrops pair with the studio booth?

Any backdrop in our range — a solid premium backdrop, a flower wall, or a fully branded setup with your logo and campaign colors for a corporate activation.
