What a brand activation photo booth actually does
Experiential marketing has one hard problem: getting a stranger to voluntarily give you their attention. A photo booth solves it better than almost anything else you can put in a space, because the value exchange is instant and obvious. Someone gets a photo of themselves that they actually want. You get a branded interaction, an opt-in, and a piece of content that keeps circulating after the activation ends.
That is the difference between a brand activation photo booth and a party rental. The booth is not there to entertain a room that has already arrived — it is there to stop people who were walking past, and to send them away carrying your campaign. Product launches, pop-ups, retail takeovers, sponsor lounges, conference floors and mall activations all run on the same mechanic.
Branded end to end, not a logo on a print
Every surface of the experience is yours. The booth itself can be fully wrapped in your artwork, the attract screen runs your campaign creative, the on-screen flow uses your copy, the photo and video overlays are built to your brand guidelines, and the gallery guests receive their capture from lives on a branded page rather than a generic link.
When the brief needs more than a wrap, we build it. Custom backdrops, step-and-repeats, printed set pieces and themed environments are designed with your team in advance so the whole activation photographs as a single piece — which matters, because the photos your guests post are the part of the activation that outlives it.
The part your marketing team can actually report on
Footfall is not a result. Before receiving their photo or video, guests can opt in with an email address or phone number, and you get the full list alongside the complete gallery once the activation wraps. Every capture carries your overlay, so anything that gets posted is doing brand work whether or not the person tags you.
We can also report sessions, shares and opt-ins by day, which turns the booth from a line item into a measurable channel. For multi-day or multi-site activations that reporting is usually what justifies running it again next quarter.
Where we run activations across New York
We are based in Brooklyn and run activations across the five boroughs and the wider tri-state area — Manhattan showrooms and retail takeovers, Long Island City and Greenpoint studio spaces, Queens and Bronx community activations, Westchester and New Jersey corporate campuses. Travel is quoted from your venue ZIP code before you book, so there is no surprise line at the end.
Venue paperwork is handled the same way it is for any corporate booking: send us the venue or building requirements and we return a certificate of insurance from our $3 million policy, usually the same day. For load-in restricted buildings and mall concourses we schedule around the freight window rather than asking your team to solve it.

What clients say

Magic Mirror Brooklyn is Absolutely the BEST thing we added to our wedding reception! People were still talking about how much FUN they had 2 weeks after, they LOVED Vallon and his crew who made everything so much FUN, the keepsake photos were Hilarious & guests stayed WAY later than they would have because we had this UNIQUE booth! Typical photobooths have NOTHING on this Mirror. If I could give a 10 star rating..I would!

Magic Mirror Brooklyn was incredibly professional and friendly upon booking online, particularly in regards to the rental of the Mirror photo-booth. They worked tirelessly to pull off our vision and went above and beyond throughout the process. On event day, they were professional and had wonderful interactions with each guest who came to get their picture taken.

It was a pleasure doing business with Valen. He was very polite, professional and very accommodating. Him and his assistant had very good energy and kept all of our guests having fun. The table with accessories was kept neat and organized the whole evening. The booth was a big hit in my event! Would definitely hire this company again.

Questions
Brand activation photo booth FAQ
What is a brand activation photo booth?
It is a photo booth built to do marketing work rather than just entertain. The hardware is wrapped in your artwork, the on-screen experience runs your campaign creative, every photo and video carries your overlay, and guests opt in with an email or phone number before they receive their capture. You leave with a contact list, a full gallery and content that guests have already shared themselves.
Where do you run brand activations?
Across the five boroughs and the tri-state area — Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Long Island City, the Bronx, Staten Island, Westchester, Long Island, New Jersey and Connecticut. We are based in Brooklyn, and travel is quoted from your venue ZIP code before you book rather than added afterwards.
Can we capture opt-in data and get reporting afterwards?
Yes. Guests opt in with an email address or phone number before receiving their photo or video, and you get the full opt-in list with the complete gallery once the activation wraps. We can also report sessions, shares and opt-ins by day, which is usually what makes the case for running the activation again.
Can you build a custom set or backdrop for our activation?
Yes. Custom backdrops, step-and-repeats, printed set pieces and themed builds are designed with your team in advance so the booth and the space photograph as one piece. Send us the brief and brand guidelines and we will come back with a build proposal alongside the booth quote.
How much does a photo booth rental cost in NYC?
Pricing depends on which booth you choose, how many hours you need, and where your venue is. Every quote is built for your specific event rather than pulled off a rate card, so the fastest way to a real number is the quote form — it takes about 30 seconds. Additional hours beyond your booked time are $125 per hour.
Is an attendant included with the photo booth rental?
Yes. A trained attendant runs every booth for the full length of your rental — setting up, keeping the prop table organized, helping guests, and packing down afterward. You never have to assign someone from your own team to look after the booth.
How much space does the booth need?
Optimal setup is 10ft x 10ft, which leaves room for the backdrop, prop table and a red carpet. We can compress into a smaller footprint when a venue is tight — the minimum is 8ft x 8ft with 7.5ft of ceiling clearance. We also need a standard 110V, 5-amp, 3-prong outlet within 15 feet of the booth.
Do you carry insurance and can you provide a COI for my venue?
Yes. We carry a $3 million insurance policy. If your venue needs a certificate of insurance naming them as additionally insured, reply to your booking confirmation with their contact email and we will send it over.
